Bada Hosts Stakeholders Forum, Unveils Ambitious Plan for Ikosi-Isheri LCDA

Princess Samiat Abolanle Bada, the Chairman of Ikosi-Isheri Local Council Development Area (LCDA), hosted a stakeholders forum on February 28th.

The event brought together a diverse group of stakeholders, including Royal Fathers, Community Leaders, Religious Leaders, Market Leaders, Political Leaders, among others to discuss key issues and initiatives in the LCDA, where she also introduced the Ikosi-Isheri LCDA task force to promote local security and outlined various initiatives aimed at transforming the community.

During the forum, Princess Samiat Bada, emphasized the importance of local security, stating that the task force will play a crucial role in maintaining law and order in the area. She also announced plans to collect data on all houses in Ikosi-Isheri LCDA, ensuring that stakeholders are aware of ongoing activities.

Princess Samiat Bada reiterated the council’s zero-tolerance policy towards indecent acts, emphasizing the need for community members to uphold moral standards. She also stressed the importance of street naming, urging stakeholders to renew existing street names and cooperate with the council’s efforts to update street names.

Princess Bada highlighted the significance of revenue generation, noting that funds collected are used to finance developmental projects in the LCDA. She appealed to community members to pay their revenue, emphasizing the importance of contributing to the community’s growth and development.

The forum also provided an opportunity for the chairman to announce several upcoming projects, including the commissioning of 16 new projects next month. These projects include:

Health centers equipped with modern medical equipment, including ultrasound machines, defibrillators, and ventilators

Legislative buildings with state-of-the-art conference facilities and audio-visual equipment

Customary courts with modern recording systems and digital documentation facilities

Roads with solar-powered streetlights and drainage systems

A fire station equipped with modern firefighting equipment, including fire trucks, ambulances, and rescue vehicles

In addition to these initiatives, the Chairman announced plans to empower local entrepreneurs with equipmens to ease there business.

She also invited stakeholders to submit suggestions for improving the local government, promising to consider all proposals.

During the forum, stakeholders raised several concerns, including the issue of trailers parked at Mile 12, which has caused difficulties for residents. The Mayoress responded, stating that work is ongoing to address the issue.

Another stakeholder raised the need for a bridge at Maidan, which the chairman acknowledged, stating that the matter has been taken to the Lagos State Government and included in the budget.

Kejinde Adebayo from Ward D commended Princess Samiat for her efforts, stating that the council’s initiatives have positively impacted the community. He also raised concerns about the Maidan bridge.

Mr. Awoderu applauded the Council boss efforts, citing the recent road construction in his area. He also thanked the Mayoress for her intervention in a domestic violence case, where a husband had been abusing his wife. The Mayoress had stepped in, ensuring the husband was arrested and providing financial support to the wife.

Chief Sulaimon Ogungbeye, Baale Olowora echoed the Mayoress’s message, emphasizing the importance of maintaining cleanliness and order in the community. He also commended the task force initiative, stating that it would help curb the alarming rate of drug abuse among youths. In response, the Mayoress provided the contact information of the NDLEA commander, encouraging stakeholders to report any cases of drug abuse.

Oba Jamiu Aileru, Oba Shangisha-Magodo, also applauded the Mayoress for her efforts to secure Ikosi-Isheri LCDA. He praised the Council boss commitment to community development and pledged his support for her initiatives.

The stakeholders forum provided a platform for the chairman to engage with community members, address their concerns, and outline her vision for the development of Ikosi-Isheri LCDA.
