We will improve refuse management in Ejigbo – Bello

The Executive Chairman of Ejigbo local council Development Area (LCDA), Hon. Monsuru Bello has vowed to improve refuse management within the community just as he disclosed that the council has been taking action in accordance with the Cleaner Lagos Initiative program as part of ways of keeping the community clean for habitation.
Bello told the attendees at the Stakeholders Forum on Refuse Management Advocacy held at the Council’s Multi-purpose Hall that it is imperative to follow the directives of the Lagos State Governor, Akinwunmi Ambode on a tidy environment in preventing communicable diseases which may affect the health of the residents.
The Council Chairman stated that the Head of Administration (HOA), Ejigbo LCDA, Folashade Ogunyemi has attended a forum held amongst other Council HOAs in Lagos State – 57 in all, and all discussed during the meeting would be implemented in activities of the council.
Ogunyemi disclosed that Federal Government sent out some agencies to all Local Governments and LCDAs for inspection on cleanliness in the areas, noting that Ejigbo was met in a satisfactory condition; a remark which led to the Council Chairman being a recipient of the recently award.
The council introduced the CLI representatives to the audience while explaining the gains of a hygienic environment.
Bello disclosed that there would be a committee, comprising of the HOA, the CDC and the CLI members who would discharge duties on making sure there would be efforts on their part on cleanliness in the community as part of the work which has already started.
The CLI representatives noted that the surroundings in Ejigbo, upon the visit reached a satisfactory remark but there is always room for improvement.
They advised that the council should task its environmental officers to be more up and doing and do all that is needed for proper sensitization to all residents in the community on how to make their surroundings clean enough as cleanliness is next to holiness.
