Nigerian comedian and actor Ayo Makun, popularly known as AY, has apologised to fans following the disruption of his comedy show in Cardiff, United Kingdom, after an alleged payment dispute between the performers and event organisers.

The show, tagged AY Live: Single and Not Searching, was expected to bring laughter and entertainment to fans. However, the event reportedly suffered prolonged delays, leaving many attendees disappointed. Some audience members eventually left the venue without enjoying the performances they had paid to see.

AY, in a statement shared on social media, explained that he and other performers had travelled to the venue but were unable to perform as planned because certain payment commitments remained unresolved.

The comedian expressed regret over the incident, acknowledging that fans who bought tickets deserved a better experience, proper organisation and clear communication.

He stressed that the audience should not have been caught in the middle of a disagreement between the performers and the organisers.

The incident has raised concerns about the experience of fans who spend their money and make arrangements to attend entertainment events, only to face unexpected delays or disruptions.

For many attendees, the disappointment goes beyond the cost of a ticket. Some may have travelled long distances, taken time off work or made other personal arrangements to attend the show.

AY has also called for a resolution that addresses the concerns of affected ticket holders, including refunds for those who did not get to enjoy the event as expected.

However, details of the refund process and when affected customers can expect their money back were not provided in the statement.

The disruption has placed attention on the responsibilities of event organisers and the need to settle important arrangements before advertising shows and inviting audiences to pay for tickets.

While the dispute over payments reportedly contributed to the disruption, fans who attended the Cardiff event were left bearing the immediate consequences.

AY’s apology acknowledges their disappointment, but attention will now turn to how the organisers resolve the matter and whether affected ticket holders receive refunds.

For the fans, the priority is simple: an explanation, accountability and a fair resolution after an evening that did not go as planned.
