Odunlade Escaped Death After Husband Fired Gun at Him, Actress Reveals

Nollywood actress Oluwafunlayo Obafemi has recounted how popular Yoruba actor Odunlade Adekola allegedly escaped death after her husband reportedly stormed their home with a gun during a movie shoot.

Obafemi disclosed the incident in an interview with Feelrightnews TV on Tuesday.

According to the actress, the incident occurred after a movie crew changed their filming location because the original venue was unsuitable for the scene they intended to shoot.

She said her house was close to the original location, prompting her to allow the crew to continue filming there. However, she did not inform her husband because she expected the shoot to end before his return.

Obafemi said the situation changed after a neighbour allegedly informed her husband that a movie crew was filming at their residence.

She alleged that her husband returned home angrily, entered the house with a gun and fired at a window while Adekola was inside.

The actress said the actor narrowly escaped by climbing over a fence.
“It was God that saved Odunlade Adekola as he escaped through the fence,” she said, describing the incident as a close call.

Obafemi explained that she had not expected her husband to return before the filming ended, but the information reportedly passed to him by a neighbour changed everything.

She said she considered Adekola’s survival an act of divine intervention.
The actress’ account, if accurate, raises concerns about the dangers that can arise when firearms are brought into domestic or workplace disputes.
