Peter Okoye Alleges Jude, Paul Wanted Lola to Abort Pregnancy
Nigerian singer Peter Okoye, one half of the former music duo P-Square, has opened up about one of the most painful moments of his life, claiming that his family pressured him to ask his then-girlfriend, Lola, to terminate her pregnancy.
Speaking in an emotional video shared on his Instagram page, Peter broke down in tears as he recalled the events that followed after Lola became pregnant when he was 27 years old.
According to the singer, he chose to announce the pregnancy publicly himself because he did not want the news to come from another source.
Peter explained that he made the announcement while receiving an award at the Soundcity Awards, where he thanked God, their fans, and supporters before dedicating the award to the mother of his unborn child.
“I was 27 years old when my girlfriend at the time, Lola, became pregnant. I didn’t want anyone else to break the news, so I decided to say it myself,” he said.
He alleged that immediately after the announcement, his elder brother, Jude Okoye, and his twin brother, Paul Okoye, reacted negatively and accused him of jeopardising the group’s career.
According to Peter, they insisted that Lola should terminate the pregnancy and allegedly went as far as forging an email to make it appear that the unborn child was not his.
“They said my announcement would ruin our career. They wanted Lola to abort the baby. They even forged an email to frame her, claiming the child wasn’t mine and accusing her of trying to trap me,” Peter alleged.
His latest revelation comes amid the ongoing public dispute between the Okoye brothers over the ownership, management, and future of the P-Square brand.
