Africa Everywhere Internship Programme for Young Nigerians – Apply Now
Young Nigerians seeking practical work experience and a pathway into the job market have an opportunity to participate in a new internship initiative launched by Oge Elumelu through the Africa & Everywhere Festival.
The initiative was created to bridge the gap between young people seeking employment and organisations looking for emerging talent. It connects participants with companies offering internship placements while providing career guidance and practical workplace exposure.
The programme grew out of Africa & Everywhere Conversations with Oge, a platform launched in 2024 to expose young Africans to opportunities across industries including finance, technology, fashion, beauty and entertainment.
According to reports, the internship initiative attracted more than 7,000 applications, with 170 candidates shortlisted. About 150 young people participated in the festival’s career activities, while 15 organisations took part in the career fair.
What the Programme Offers
The initiative is designed to give young Nigerians more than theoretical career advice by connecting them directly with potential employers.
Selected participants benefit from:
- Access to internship opportunities
- Practical workplace experience
- Connections with employers and industry professionals
- Career guidance and mentorship
- CV development and application support
- Exposure to different industries and career paths
- Opportunities to build professional networks
Organisers reviewed applications, shortlisted candidates, supported them with CV development and matched successful applicants with available internship opportunities.
Who Should Apply?
The opportunity is particularly relevant to young Nigerians seeking their first significant workplace experience, recent graduates and emerging professionals looking to improve their employability.
Applicants interested in sectors such as finance, technology, entertainment, fashion, beauty, business and other professional fields can benefit from the initiative, depending on the roles available through participating organisations.
Why the Opportunity Matters
Nigeria’s competitive employment market means that academic qualifications alone may not always be enough to secure a job. Practical experience, professional networks and relevant workplace skills can significantly improve a young person’s chances of entering the labour market.
The Africa & Everywhere initiative seeks to address that gap by moving beyond conversations about youth employment and creating direct connections between young people and employers.
The organisers have also emphasised the importance of continuous learning, technical competence, discipline and professional development as young Nigerians prepare for an evolving workplace.
How to Apply
Interested young Nigerians should monitor the official Africa & Everywhere platforms and announcements for the next application window, as the reported 2026 cohort has already gone through its initial selection process.
Important: This opportunity should not be confused with the Tony Elumelu Foundation Entrepreneurship Programme, which is a separate initiative providing training, mentorship and seed capital to African entrepreneurs. The Foundation’s 2026 programme offered US$5,000 in non-refundable seed capital alongside business training and mentorship.
