Showtime Bowl Series XIII: Lagos Athletics Dislodges Panthers From Table Summit

Week seven of the Showtime Bowl Series XIII delivered one of the most dramatic twists of the season, as the Lagos Athletic Knights stormed to the summit of the standings with a hard-fought 20–12 victory over Ikan Sports, while the once-invincible Panthers Sports shockingly fell 19–12 to the Lagos Rebels.
It was a Sunday packed with high-octane action, emotion, and defining moments that left fans breathless at Showtime Arena and thousands more glued to their screens online.
The Knights, driven by fierce determination and tactical precision, showcased championship-quality football as they dethroned Ikan Sports to climb from second to first. “We came here knowing this was our moment we took it,” said one ecstatic Knights player after the game.
Meanwhile, the Panthers’ unbeaten run came crashing down, courtesy of a fearless Rebels side who played with heart and grit from start to finish. The upset of the week sent shockwaves across the league, pushing the Panthers down to third, while the Rebels held firm in fourth proving they’re true contenders for the postseason.
Elsewhere, the Warriors Flag Football side reminded everyone why they remain one of the league’s powerhouses, dismantling the Mainland Long Horns in a 55–0 blowout that lifted them to second place. The Raptors also lit up the field with a 61–6 thrashing of Lagos Alpha Flag Football, maintaining their strong fifth-place position.
The Lekki Braves continued their resurgence with a 46–20 win over the Greenbacks, though both teams held their places at seventh and ninth, respectively.
