Expected Mothers Excited as Isolo LCDA Distributes Delivery Kits

More than 200 pregnant women from Isolo and other areas were given valuable delivery items today, relieving them of the financial burden associated with childbirth as their due dates approach.

The program, organized by Mrs. Olajumoke Olasoju, the council chairperson, was highly successful, with many expectant mothers coming to the council secretariat to benefit from this admirable initiative.

Echonews reports that Olasoju explained how the program, which focuses specifically on expectant mothers, aligns with the council’s comprehensive healthcare policy to improve the lives of residents and ensure that no one is overlooked.

“Today’s program is specially for the expectant mothers to ensure that they benefit immensely from our comprehensive healthcare policy. Most of the beneficiaries are pregnant mothers who attend the seven primary healthcare centres in Isolo LCDA for their antenatal.This gesture is a way of reaffirming our commitment to their wellness and safe delivery, we pray to God to grant them safe delivery,” the chairperson remarked.

In his opening speech, Olasoju Adebayo, the council chairman, discussed a new program aimed at supporting and ensuring the safe delivery of expectant mothers.

He emphasized the importance of quality and accessible healthcare and urged attendees to regularly attend their ante-natal clinic appointments. This initiative is another step in prioritizing the health and well-being of the community.

“Today’s program is significant and as you can see it is quite different from our previous health mission, the special focus is on the expectant mothers to support them with essential items needed for their safe delivery and continued wellness thereafter. This initiative is novel and it was borne out of our desire to ensure that everyone benefits from our robust healthcare policy and we will keep exploring all possible aavenuesto achieve this,” the chairman said.

Speaking with one of the beneficiaries, Mrs. Tawakalitu Amokeoja hailed the council chairman and the chairperson for the delivery kits noting that the gesture has saved her thousands of Naira.

“I’m delighted to benefit from this program and I am grateful to the chairman and first lady for the gesture. May God continue to bless them and shower his love on them. Items in the box are delivery essentials and it will cost me thousands of naira to get them. Now I can use the money for other things. God bless the chairman and first lady,” Amokeoja said enthusiastically.

One of the notable aspects of the event was the provision of Health Insurance Policy for at least 500 citizens in Lagos. Through the Lagos State Health Management Agency (LASHMA), these individuals were granted access to specific healthcare services from accredited public and private hospitals across all local government areas in the state.
