Kehinde Adeleye
As part of efforts to clear all clogged drains in the area and enhance free flow of water in advance of the upcoming monsoon season, Agboyi-Ketu LCDA Supervisor for Environment Toheeb Durosimi has revealed that the desilting of gutters is presently underway.
The Department of Environment is now working on Davies Street, Ajelogo, Irawo Road, Owode-Ajegunle, Thomas Laniyan Road, Owode-Ajegunle, Adedoyin Street, Kosofe, and Orisigun Street, Kosofe, as a number of choked gutters have been discovered for desilting.
Durosimi pointed out that Agboyi-Ketu would not experience flooding in 2024 because further precautions will be taken by Mr. Dele Osinowo led LCDA to ensure that the drains are completely clear.
Continuous resident sensitization, desilting of all LCDA canals using a swamp buggy, and a vigorous campaign to stop the illicit dumping of garbage into drains are a few of the approaches.
Durosimi exhorted locals to take additional responsibility for maintaining a tidy and verdant environment .
