Nigeria dynamic midfielder, Toni Payne has attributed the country’s success at the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup to her teammates that have turned up with impressive performances.
The Super Falcons racked up five points from three matches to qualify for the round of 16 stage of the World Cup.
Payne said the Falcons achieved their set target before the Republic of Ireland clash.
The 28 year old midfield maestro commended her teammates for working hard to achieve their targeted goals as she tipped them to reach the final.
“Going into the game was to get a point so that we can qualify and we got that today,” she told NFF TV.
“I couldn’t do it without my teammates, we have got wonderful and hardworking players that work for each other to achieve our goals.
“If we play like how we are playing and if we improve on each game, I think we can go all the way to the final.
“We know this is going to be the group of death, we know it’s going to be hard but we never thought it will be impossible.”
The Super Falcons will face European champions England in the round of 16 of the World Cup.
