A councillorship aspirant in Ishaga/Ire-Akari Ward F4, Isolo Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Ayobami Davies, has declared that he is running on the platform of the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) because he believes it is a credible alternative.

He noted that the success PDP recorded in 2015 and its firm establishment across all wards in the council area gave him enormous confidence that he would win during the forthcoming local council polls.

He explained that, as an indigenous son, born and brought up in the community, he has planned to work with the council chairman to transform the community.

He said: “With the way the politics is being played in Nigeria, everybody believes that all politicians are liars. I’m coming to change that notion and get straight to business. I want to transform my ward to the status of GRA with the help of God. Of course, I’ll definitely work with the chairman in terms of road infrastructure but about others, let me keep it. How I’m going to turn it to GRA? Let me leave it to myself.

“With the help of God, I believe when God says yes, no one on earth can say no. And God has said ‘Yes’ that we should go and that means he already finished His work. I believe that should the election be conducted tomorrow (or anytime), God will definitely show Himself as God. I will be accessible to all. I have 100 per cent belief in God and I believe that my people will recommend me for a higher position after my councillorship.

Meanwhile, the PDP ward chairman, Alhaji Mutfau Ogunleye assured that the party would ensure that the best and consummate aspirant earns the party’s ticket for the position, saying the party is making efforts to ensure its victory at the poll.
