A total of 18 divorce cases were heard at the Customary Court, Oshodi in the year 2019 out of which only two were peacefully settled through Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) as the couples redeemed their marriages.
The court president, Mrs. Adebisi Laditan deployed the ADR method to resolve the cases and succeeded in saving the union of the couples from breaking.
However, other 16 cases could not be settled as many of the marriages were dissolved while others could not be decided in the court.
“Mending fences between couples is part of the customary court’s duty which Oshodi-Isolo Local Government Customary Court has skillfully demonstrated in 2019.
“Tuesdays and Thursdays are meant for case hearing and court decisions have always been fairly presided over by Mrs. Adebisi Laditan who took fair justice as a paramount importance in discharging her duty,” said the Court Registrar.
