No fewer than 100,000 exercise books would be distributed to the pupils in primary schools across Isolo Local Council Development Area (LCDA) next week, the Council Chairman, Hon. Shamsudeen Olaleye (Shammeh) has revealed.
The council boss said the books would be distributed to the pupils immediately they resume for the second term academic session for them to have materials to work with.

According to him, the free books for the children are part of the efforts to develop education in the council area in line with his agenda.
“We shall commence the distribution of the books to the children as soon as they resume next week. The books are already in the store, we have printed not less than 100,000 copies for our school children.
“This is one of many other interventions to support their academic pursuit. Already we have procured two shuttle buses to convey the school children. Other things include total renovation of Akinbaiye Primary School, Isolo, mobilisation of primary and secondary schools in Isolo for Spelling Bee competitions, anti-cultism campaign for secondary schools and others.
“For our capital projection for 2019, I will say I am happy, just like the revenue, serious capital development works started after June and even at that we covered a very good ground, appreciable ground. We were able to touch on schools, we rehabilitated schools, we did roads, we did poverty alleviation, we gave council a facelift, projects were springing up left, right and centre, and I am so sure that by the time the first quarter of this year comes to an end, the council will have bulk of commissioning to do not one project, but we have minimum of at least 10 projects to commission because various projects are at various stages of completion.”
