Woman arraigned for stripping neighbour during fight

A public brawl between two women has landed one of them, who striped the other in prison.
At Afonka Police Division where the matter was reported, it was gathered that the accused, Evelyn Tanko, had been in an unfriendly term with the complainant, Offiong Olufunke – both of them engaging in a public fight at their residence, Ibironke Ibafemi Close in Akowonjo which was as a result of a matter related with a lover of Olufunke.
Police source disclosed that Tanko and others still at large laid ambush on Olufunke, attacked her and tore her dress leaving her with only her undergarments on.
Evelyn was consequently arraigned before the Magistrates Court in Ejigbo for assault and causing public scene alongside the torn pieces of Olufunke’s brought in as exhibit.
She pleaded not guilty.
The Police Prosecutor, Inspector G Simon, did not oppose her being granted bail.
However, the prosecutor informed the court that apart from tearing her dress, that Evelyn and two other persons assaulted Olufunke and stabbed her hand with a sharp object which caused her serious injury.
The Presiding Magistrate, Kayode Layeni, granted her bail in the sum of N50,000 with two sureties in like sum.
She was remanded in prison custody pending when she will perfect her bail condition.
The matter was adjourned till 5th September, 2018.
