WGB Lagos FA Cup: Gift Monday returns from school to secure a vital win for FC Robo Queens with a brace

Lagos female football powerhouse, FC Robo Queens started their campaign in the Winners Golden Bet (WBG) Lagos FA Cup with a great win after coming from a goal down to thrash Oasis Ladies 3-1 at Alade stadium, Abule Egba.

Gift Monday captain of the FC Robo Queens, who was just returning from school lived up to expectations as she scored twice in the game to secure a great win for FC Robo Queens as they advance to the semi-final of the WGB Lagos FA Cup. Maria Oke put the icing on the cake for the Lagos Landladies with a great header to seal a vital 3-1 win.

Speaking with ECHONEWS, coach of FC Robo Queens, Emmanuel Osahon was happy that the team escaped a scare from Oasis Ladies and showered praises on Gift Monday for living up to expectations and helping the team out with a valuable brace.

Osahon added that it was a great feeling to score the important match winning goals towards the end of the match and was very excited with the win.

The captain of FC Robo Queens and Super Falcons forward, Gift Monday said

“I feel happy, though it’s a collective efforts of the team, so I’m thanking God for the wonderful teammates I’ve got.

“All I have to do in the coming games is to grab every opportunity to score and never to take any chances for granted”
