Singer Peter Okoye’s latest video recounting his alleged physical confrontation with his brothers during the breakup of the former P-Square group has sparked an outpouring of reactions on social media, with many users expressing sympathy for the singer while criticising his elder brother and former manager, Jude Okoye.

The reactions followed Mr P’s renewed claims that disagreements over the sharing of the group’s assets and management decisions contributed to the collapse of one of Nigeria’s most successful music groups.

Many social media users weighed in on the controversy, questioning Jude Okoye’s role as the group’s former manager and his alleged entitlement to a significant share of the group’s earnings.

One user, identified as tkinzystar, argued that Jude’s earnings did not reflect his contribution to P-Square’s success.

“Explain why a manager is receiving 40 per cent. Did he sing or perform the songs? Jude no try,” the user wrote.

Another user, Ingeniouscutie, said the situation highlighted the emotional impact of betrayal within families.

“The agony that comes from family betrayal cuts deep. Family is supposed to heal you, not be the reason you need healing,” the user commented.

Kizbrizzy described the dispute as heartbreaking, saying it was painful to see two brothers allegedly united against another family member.

“Two against one in the same family is always painful,” the comment read.

Similarly, Winnielaciolli suggested that only those who had experienced sibling rivalry could fully understand Peter’s situation.

“If you haven’t experienced sibling rivalry, you won’t understand the depth of oppression Peter has been through,” the user wrote.

Another commenter, Dlanor Jayy, questioned Jude Okoye’s claim to the group’s assets, alleging that he did not contribute financially to the formation of P-Square.

“It still surprises me, the confidence Jude has to talk when he owned and invested nothing from the start. Fighting for rights over something you don’t deserve,” the user stated.

For Amokeberry, the video reflected years of emotional trauma allegedly endured by Peter.

“All I see is a man who was traumatised by his brothers for years,” the comment read.

Kobi Grm also praised Peter’s resilience, saying he remained silent despite what the user described as years of betrayal.

“I think Peter is one of the strongest people I have ever seen. This guy was going through a lot. Do you know what it means to be betrayed by people you call brothers? Yet for years, he never spoke up. Stay strong,” the user wrote.

The video is the latest in Peter Okoye’s series of public statements explaining what he believes led to the breakup of P-Square and his ongoing dispute with Jude Okoye over the group’s management and assets.

As of the time of filing this report, Jude Okoye had not publicly responded to Peter’s latest allegations or the reactions generated by the video.
