Sexual Scandal: Olaleye Approaches Appeal Court

Dr. Femi Olaleye, Medical Director of Optimal Cancer Care Foundation, who was arraigned and sentenced to life imprisonment by a Sexual Offences and Domestic Violence Court in Lagos for forcefully defiling his wife’s niece has faulted the verdict and had since appealed the judgement.
Olaleye, who was alleged to have committed the act with the minor accused the court of erring on all counts totalling about 35, and is therefore seeking redress at the Appeal Court, demanding to be absolved of the said crime and discharged.
The medical practitioner, whose defensive team was headed by Kemi Pinheiro, SAN, disclosed that the lower court erred the law as their was no evidence brought confirming that the victim was 16 years old as at the time of the incident, stating that the age declared was manufactured and hearsay.
Justice Ramon Oshodi of the Sexual Offences Court delivered the judgment which sent Dr Olufemi Olaleye to life imprisonment.

i. AN ORDER of this Honourable Court allowing this appeal.
ii. AN ORDER of this Honourable Court setting aside the decision of the Honourable Lower Court contained in the judgment delivered on the 24th day of October, 2023 in Charge No: ID/20289C/2022.
iii. AN ORDER setting aside the conviction of and quashing the sentence against the Appellant by the Honourable Lower Court on the 24th day of October, 2023 in Charge No: ID/20289C/2022.
iv. AN ORDER of this Honourable Court discharging and acquitting the Appellant of the offences spelt out on the face of the information filed in Charge No: ID/20289C/2022.
It will be recalled that the complainant, wife of the accused alongside Nollywood thespian, Kate Henshaw claimed at the court that the transgressor raped the victim from March 2020 to November 2021 at their Maryland residence in Lagos.
The complainant also revealed that the victim was also introduced to pornography and oral sex.
It was further said that the accused gave his wife sleeping pills before every encounter with the minor so as to be able to carry out the act.
