The School Director, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu Primary School, Ejigbo, Mrs. Risikat Hassan, has commended the Ejigbo LCDA Council Leader, Hon. Lanre Akinbowale, for making 116 desks and 89 chairs for the school from the already broken ones.
The Director, who itemised various challenges facing the school, noted that the school had not got any support from those who had visited and promised to render help to the school on its predicament.
She however commended the council leader for being one of the visitors who fulfilled the promise to support the school with repairing of the furniture.
Akinbowa, during his tour of the school towards the end of last academic session, promised to repair the staircase, chairs and desks for the school which he delivered as promised.
Hassan said: “The school is happy about the provisions of the furniture and the entire staff and the pupils really appreciate the gesture.
“Many people have been promising us to do something in the school in the past but they were always vain premises. But when the councillors came on inspection, the leader saw the state of the staircase and the furniture and promised to do something about it from his own pocket which he has done now and we are very happy.”
She however appealed to the government to do more for the school as many other infrastructures needed to be put in place in the school to make academic environment conducive for both the teachers and the students.
She particularly pointed out that the canal behind the school building was disturbing and needed government support to evacuate it.
