The residents of Daleko/Lafenwa Area of Ejigbo Local Council Development Area (LCDA) have appealed to Ikeja Electricity Distribution Company (IKEDC) to return the transformer which has been taken away from the community since February this year.

They lamented that the community has been in total blackout ever since the transformer was taken away by the electricity company to be repaired.

According to them, all efforts made by the community to have their power supply restored in the community were not successful.

One of the elderly residents, Mr. James Ezejinle, explained that when they visited the company, they were told that there are debts on the transformer which the community has to pay off before having their transformer back.

He informed them that they have been paying the debts and the company promised to restore the transformer but has refused to do so.

He therefore appealed to the local council  government to come to their aid, saying all efforts to have the power supply back have been exhausted.

However, the business manager at Okota headquarters, Mr. Taofeek Obasanya, said he would check to ascertain what the real issue was and act accordingly.
