Police Arraign Woman For Stabbing Complainant

A suspect identified as Simbiat Akinmurele is facing prosecution for allegely stabbing a woman.

The police arraigned the suspect at the Ikorodu Magistrates’ Court on Thursday on a two-count charge bordering on assault.

She pleaded not guilty.

Police Prosector, ASP Christian Okonofua, said that the defendant commited the offence on May 24, 2024, at about 10:30am at 28, Otambala Street, Ita Elewa, Ikorodu.

Okonofua stated that the suspect broke a beer bottle and stabbed the complainant, Kemi Oseni, causing her grievous harm.

According to the prosecutor, the offences contravene Sections 168(d) and 245 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.

The court granted the defendant bail in the sum of N200,000, with two sureties in like sum and adjourned the case till June 13 for mention.
