Patients at Oshodi Ogunlana Primary Healthcare Centre (PHC) are calling on the local government and the Lagos State Primary Health Care Board to engage more medical doctors to cope with high turnout at the clinic.

According to the clinic’s medical records, no  fewer than 75 patients seek to see doctors at this clinic daily thus causing long queues and putting heavy pressure on the two doctors on duty.

It was noticed that patients from other ends of the community such as Shogunle and Mafoluku also come to Oshodi Ogunlana (PHC) for medical care.

Some of the patients who spoke to ECHONEWS confirmed that the center is better in terms of health care delivery compared to some other PHCs around but lacks sufficient doctors to attend to many patients who come to the centre for treatment.

One of the visitors, Mrs. Ogbos who brought her mother for medical treatment from Sogunle community said she always felt comfortable and satisfied with the services rendered at Oshodi Ogunlana PHC.

She said it is not different from that of General Hospital as the patients have to go through the process of obtaining a card, checking of the body temperature and blood pressure, seeing the doctor, receiving treatment from the General Out Patient Department (GOPD) before being certified to get drugs at the PHC pharmacy at cheap rate.
