Oba Oliwo’s Coronation Begins With Lecture And Quiz

The Coronation Ceremony of the Aladepekun of Odo Egiri Kingdom, His Royal Majesty, Alaiyeluwa Oba Musiliu Abiola Oliwo,in Eredo LCDA, Epe  Division of Lagos State, began today in the community with a Lecture on Drugs Abuse,Quiz competition between Public and Private schools within the kingdom.

After the event which ran simultaneously with free Healthcare provided by KEDI Healthcare organization, was declared open by Oba Oliwo; the lecture of the day centred on Drug Abuse, during which all and sundry, especially,the youths were admonished to shun illicit drug and embrace a responsible lifestyle was staged.This was immediately followed by the quiz competition of the day, which started with Mathemathics, English Language, and later ,General Paper, in rounds.

After a brilliant performance by the participants,the results were announced and presentation of Cash Prizes to the Winners followed,while Educational Materials and other items were also given to all the schools that participated in the Maiden Aladepekun’s Quiz Competition. At the Primary Schools Category, Growing Treasures won the 1st position,A.U.D Primary School got the 2nd position,while Brilliance Academy and Metti clinched 3rd and 4th positions, respectively.

At the Junior Secondary Schools level,Odomola Junior Secondary School came 1st,while Pobuna and Alaro Junior High School,clinched the 2nd and the 3rd positions, respectively.

Meanwhile, the Supervisor for Works, Eredo LCDA, Engr. Odeyemi Tope Warizi,the New Iyalode of Odo-Egiri,Chief (Mrs.) Toyin Alaya and one of the Project Co-ordinators, Educator Sonoiki Bolaji Idowu; have described the Kingdom as one who cherishes education,Culture and tradition so much,hence,the staging of the event. They have also urged Youth to shun drug abuse.

“I appeal to youth to be focused in life and to shun drug abuse in order to have a great future.” Hon. Odeyemi advised.
