Notayo’s Cup: Expect Exciting opportunities – Lucky Notayo

The founder Notayo’s Cup, Lucky Notayo has disclosed that exciting opportunities await the participating clubs of this year’s edition.

The tournament which came into existence three years have produced top class players who have moved up the ladder to top teams in the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL), while some have pursued greener pastures outside the country.

Speaking to ECHONEWS exclusively, Notayo said it’s the love and passion for the game which made him sponsor the tournament.

The UK based ex professional player assured the participating clubs of exciting spices and loads of opportunities which has been lined up for the tournament to be staged in Oshodi.

“It’s the love and passion I have for the game that made me sponsor the Notayo’s Cup,” he said.

“That exactly I can’t reveal for now but be well assured that we have new spices that have been put in place for this year’s edition.”

Despite naming the tournament in his name, he believes the competition is about the grassroots and to give the teams the necessary exposing with healthy competition to demonstrate their practices in training.

“Notayo’s Cup is absolutely about the grassroots teams, it is an opportunity for the grassroots teams to showcase their talents. Based on my knowledge, lots of these teams only train without playing any tournaments, competitions or league to demonstrate what they have been practicing.

“To be honest with you, it is very hard now to market a player from grassroot level to abroad am assuring you that the exceptional players have chances to be scouted for by the Nigeria Premier league clubs.”
