Nigeria is blessed with great potential players – Skomina

The Lyon Scouting program ended in style at Navy Town sport complex, satellite town, Lagos State as former FIFA badge referee Damir Skomina and now a licensed FIFA Agent was on ground to scout for potential players.

Speaking to ECHONEWS, former FIFA badge referee and now licensed FIFA Agent, Damir Skomina was delighted with the enormous talented players he saw in Nigeria as he believes that Nigeria have the ability to win the FIFA World Cup one day.

“We have seen some talents, you know in this business, I don’t have expectations because expectations are those who make you unhappy, so we are just here to see potential players, I know we can not find finish players here but very young Nigeria players that have potential then we get them to Europe to sign professional contract.

“We are really looking for great players that have potential, there’s a lot of work to do around. We want to do it in a proper way, we will just choose some players that fits our qualifications.

“Well in comparison to Europe, Nigeria is hot but it’s a lovely place and a nice place.”

Skomina added that he hopes to come back to Nigeria and organize a clinic or seminar for Nigeria football referees where he will share his experiences with them.

“This could be possible of coming back to Nigeria to organize a seminar for the Nigeria Football referees because I have a lot of experience and I can share my experience with them.

“I have over 18 years experience as a FIFA referee officiating Champions League matches, European championship, World Cup, the U20 and U21 tournament.

“An African country have the ability to win the FIFA World Cup, in life nothing is impossible.

“Nigeria is so huge with development of footballers blessed with so many talents.”
