Castmog FA optimistic of a good outing at Ifeanyi Chiejine Memorial Cup

The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of 2022 Ogun State FA Cup Champions, Prince Adeyinka Adeniyi of Castmog Football Academy is looking forward to the maiden edition of the Ifeanyi Chiejine Memorial Cup.

The maiden edition of the tournament will have eight teams trade tackles from December 15 to 21 in Asaba, Delta State capital.

“It’s a privilege given to us to participate in the maiden Ifeanyi Chiejine Memorial Cup. Those girls have been looking for this kind of opportunity. When I told them that we are going to Asaba, they were so happy. The coaches’ hands are on deck because they are really preparing for it. We have has some matches that we are playing presently in order to prepare our girls for the Ifeanyi Chiejine Memorial Cup. By the time we get there, the girls will make me proud.

“If such a thing have been happening in Nigeria, it would have been good. The organizers have thought it so deep to do this. I am so happy. This will also teach others because the organisers have started from somewhere. Before you know it, the second edition will be better than the first edition. They have tried their best and I wish them success.” Prince Adeyinka Adeniyi told pressmen at Gateway Stadium, Sagamu, Ogun State.

Castmog FC of Abeokuta defeated Female Machine to win the 2022 Ogun State FA Cup for Women and also participated at the 2022 Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) Nationwide in Benin City, Edo State.

The team is currently participating at the Bamidele Abiodun Cup, a pre-season tournament in honour of the Ogun State First Lady.

“We had young players for the NWFL Nationwide last season from Secondary Schools. The girls have now developed more than before. What we are playing now is another yardstick to develop them more so that they can have a good game when we get to Asaba. The Ogun State First Lady’s Cup is a good program for us to prepare ourselves and we are using that opportunity.” He concluded.

Delta Babes, Prince Kazeem Eletu Queens, Kwara Ladies, Imo Strikers Queens FC, Fortress International FC, Moje Queens, Castmog FC, and a team from Anambra State will take part at the maiden Ifeanyi Chiejine Memorial Cup.
