Mushin LG Leads Fight Against Hypertension, Conducts Monthly Medical Screening For Staff

During the monthly medical screening organized by Mushin Local Government’s health department, 35 cases of hypertension were identified among staff and political office holders.

Echonews reports that this initiative started by the administration of Chairman Mr. Emmanuel Bamigboye and has been effective in addressing health issues and preventing untimely deaths.

Free screenings were conducted for residents and council employees, with blood pressure monitoring devices distributed for regular checks.

Results from the latest screening revealed hypertension in 37 individuals, with other health conditions also detected.

Treatment and follow-up care were provided, with some patients receiving free eye glasses. Many patients were unaware of their conditions until the screening.

The program will continue in other communities, emphasizing the importance of regular health check-ups for all.

The Council boss also use the medium to appeal to members of the public and civil servants working in Mushin Local Government, to take advantage of this programme, to know their health status and manage their health.
