MAN ARRESTED FOR ATTEMPTED MURDER

A man suspected to be a hired assasin was on Tuesday arrested by the police after he was caught in Jakande Estate trying to strangle a woman to death.

The suspect, having been thoroughly battered by pedestrians who witnessed the act disclosed that he traveled down to Lagos from Sapele, Delta State to commit the act and when arrested and interrogated by Policemen, he said it was a devil’s work.

According to reports, the man entered the woman’s boutique and strangled her with a rope but was stopped by residents who heard the woman screaming.

He was beaten by a mob who almost lynched him to death before the Police arrived the scene to rescue him. The woman was immediately taken to the hospital
The murder attempt led to several reactions by passers-by who stripped and tried to burn the suspect alive but were stopped by Policemen who arrested the suspect and took him to the station.
A man in the crowd quickly narrated in pidgin that the man is a killer from Sapele who was caught trying to kill a woman in her shop. He went ahead saying such people who can think of taking someone’s life should be dealt with seriously.
