The management of Isolo Public Library has urged the state and local governments to assist in maintaining the facilities and the resources needed in the day to day running of the library.

This came following the complaints by the library users especially the readers about depreciating facilities such as toilet, lack of water and electricity.

They have complained about the inability of the library board to make provision for alternative power supply, which has been keeping the readers away from the library.

It was also said that the Air Conditioners are not functioning properly while most of the books on the shelves are outdated.

A library official who pleaded anonymity told ECHONEWS that the facilities in the library are properly maintained but, some of the air conditioners have developed fault, adding that the library has a standby diesel-generator set but there is no adequate fund for its fueling.

We are not only appealing to the library board but to the state and local government authorities, and well-meaning residents to see the library as an avenue to support the government, the librarian said.
