LG Chairman promises N500k monthly per CDA for projects

The Chairman of Oshodi-Isolo Local Government Area (LGA), Hon. Bolaji Muse-Ariyoh has promised to give 60 Community Development Associations (CDAs) N30million monthly to execute their various projects.

 

According to him, each of the 60 CDAs would receive N500,000 as support from the government to execute community development projects.

According to him, the sum of N500,000 would be released on monthly basis to each CDA to execute any of their community projects within the estimates of N400,000 while N100,000 would be for the CDA’s supervision of the projects in view.

 

The council chairman, who made the promise during a meeting with the Community Development Committee (CDC), explained that the LG would finance and inspect the projects of each CDA while the works departments would take proper documentations before, during and after the projects have been completed.

In addition, he said his administration has decided to invest in infrastructures such as schools, healthcare centers and drainage desilting instead of waiting on favourable weather to embark on road reconstructions.

However, he promised to fill potholes with stones to make the roads accessible pending the time the rains would subside.

 

Also, he promised to intervene in Shogunle community by starting with the reconstruction of Temidire Primary School, Shogunle Primary Healthcare Centre (PHC) and drainage.

Ariyoh charged the CDC to inform the community residents to pay TV and Radio rates (N1000- N4000) per year adding that compliance will soon be enforced to create revenue for the LGA.

 

He said: “CDC is like a mirror, a reflection of oneself, the way you stand is the way you will see yourself.”

 

Meanwhile, the CDC members applauded the gesture of the council chairman by involving all the CDAs in the community development projects.

The CDC state representative, Chief Israel Orija said: “This will mark the first time LGA will give the community assignment of recognition. If you relate with the community, they will support you as well.”

 

Ariyoh further promised to intervene in challenges affecting the communities such as bad street lights, epileptic power supply, water supply.

He said councillors will be mandated to attend the meetings of the CDAs in their wards.
