Member, Lagos State House of Assembly representing Ikeja Constituecy 02, Hon. Adedamola Kasunmu, has bemoaned the ongoing spike in the prices of goods despite the significant growth of the naira.

Kasumu expressed his displeasure over the incident during his keynote address at Alhaja Abibat Mogaji’s Ramadan Lecture held at the Eko FM Marquee, Ikeja Lagos.

The Deputy Majority Leader of the Assembly solicited for more cooperation and support from Nigerians for the President Bola Tinubu-led administration to succeed.

The lawmaker said that President Bola Tinubu is working in a very steadfast way to make sure he stays committed to the work he campaigned for.

He said, “As you can see that within the few months of him being in office, he has been able to achieve something good in terms of good governance

“The dollar is gradually going down and the naira is picking up but the prices of goods are not going down, this is something that has to come out from the people as well, because they have to cooperate with the government in their efforts to be able to benefit the general public.

“If you have the dollar coming down and the prices of goods and services going up then it is counter productive.

“It doesn’t speak well of what the administration is trying to do in terms of good governance and policies to make our country a better place to be. Nigeria is a very hopeful nation, a land of many opportunities if put into perspective.

“I believe with cooperation from the top to the bottom, across all boards and tiers of governments we would make things happen.”

Kasumnu hailed the good deeds of Alhaja Abibat Mogaji who according to him lived an exemplary worthy of emulation.

“She lived a life of impact, one that birthed the likes of current President Bola Tinubu, myself and many more who lived and grew under her tutelage.

“We are giving honour to God almighty in her name that he will remember every good deed of hers while alive as an act of Ibadah.”
