Late Tope Osoba Fiancé Denies Financial Exploitation, Recounts Actress’ Hospital Ordeal
The fiancé of late Nollywood actress Tope Osoba, Sup. Evang. Prophet Itunu Onadeko, has denied benefiting financially from the actress while recounting how he supported her during her surgery.
Onadeko, a Shepherd of CCC Onibuore Cathedral, Bogije, Ibeju-Lekki, Lagos, made the disclosure during a livestream session hosted by TikTok user Okoawonsinglemothers.
Speaking about the period when Tope underwent surgery, the Shepherd said he stood by the actress and helped transport her to the hospital when it was time for the procedure.
According to him, Tope later made a video appealing to members of the public for financial assistance towards her treatment.
He said she subsequently informed him that people had started donating money to support her.
Onadeko recalled visiting Evacare Hospital, saying it was his first time at the facility and that he was able to have access to Tope because she reportedly introduced him as her boyfriend.
He also addressed questions about his financial dealings with the actress, insisting that he did not take advantage of her financially.
According to him, Tope kept her money in her own account and did not give him money to manage.
He, however, acknowledged that she sent him ₦2 million after her surgery.
Onadeko also claimed that Tope bought gold jewellery for both of them during their relationship.
He said that when the actress needed money for a production, she sold two of her gold items to raise funds.
Speaking about her vehicle, he said the car was bought in Tope’s name but later developed an engine problem, after which he assisted with its repair.
The Shepherd also recounted what happened around the actress’ discharge from the hospital.
He claimed that Tope told him some of her aunties wanted to visit her but that she did not want them around, alleging that they were responsible for the death of her mother.
According to him, actress Foluke Daramola was present during the period and suggested that they stay in a hotel for 3 days.
Onadeko said Tope rejected the suggestion, preferring that they return to the church rather than spend money on a hotel.
He maintained that his relationship with Tope was based on love and support and denied exploiting her financially.
The account was given during the Okoawonsinglemothers livestream, while the financial and medical claims made by Onadeko could not be independently verified.
