I Didn’t Know Tope Osoba Was Into Drugs Until Six Months Later — Late Actress’ Fiancé
The fiancé of late Nollywood actress Tope Osoba, Sup. Evang. Prophet Itunu Onadeko, has opened up about what he described as the actress’ alleged struggle with drugs before her death.
Onadeko, a Shepherd of CCC Onibuore Cathedral, Bogije, Ibeju-Lekki, Lagos, made the disclosure during a livestream session hosted by TikTok user Okoawonsinglemothers, where he spoke extensively about his relationship with the late actress and some of the challenges she allegedly faced.
According to him, he did not initially know that Tope was allegedly involved with drugs, saying he only discovered it about 6 months into their relationship.
He said there were several occasions when the actress would leave home and fail to return, leaving him worried about her whereabouts.
Onadeko explained that on some occasions when he eventually found her, she was in what he described as a “wasted” state.
He said dealing with the situation was emotionally difficult for him because of how deeply he cared about the actress.
“I loved her so much,” he said, adding that he developed blood pressure problems while she was alive because of his concerns about her.
The prophet also recounted an occasion when Tope allegedly left home without returning, prompting him to visit a police station to report the situation.
According to him, the police officer he met was also a member of his church and advised him against writing a formal statement.
He claimed the officer told him that Tope was a celebrity and would likely return home, adding that if she failed to return, the police could track her.
Onadeko further alleged that the officer warned him that making such a report could expose him to negative public comments because of his position as a clergyman.
He said Tope was eventually located after one of her siblings contacted him and informed him that the actress was at her residence.
According to him, when he got there, he met Tope in the toilet ‘wasted’ and made a video of the situation.
He claimed that he called actress Foluke Daramola who advised him to delete the video because Tope was a celebrity and it would not be good for such footage to be seen publicly.
Onadeko further claimed that Tope subsequently stopped answering Foluke’s calls and that similar incidents happened on several occasions.
The Shepherd maintained that he remained deeply concerned about the actress and continued to support her despite the difficulties he said they encountered.
The allegations concerning drug use and the circumstances surrounding Tope Osoba’s condition were made by her fiancé during the livestream and have not been independently verified.
