The Member representing Mushin Federal Constituency II Mr. Toyin Fayinka has urged private owned institutions to complement efforts of the government by establishing more companies to tackle the increasing rate of unemployment
Fayinka who is also the Chairman of Primus Club of Nigeria said this at the Annual Family End-of-the-Year party which held in Lagos.
He posited that government alone can’t provide all the jobs needed in the country, because there are limited office space in government offices and thus cannot accommodate the high number of graduates turned out yearly.
“So, my personal opinion is that since we have private universities where parents strive to pay N2m, N3m per session, it’s encouraging that those private universities also should look beyond establishment of schools and work together to see how they can build one or two factories that could employ their students after graduation,” Fayinka stated.
He added further that spending so much to educate children abroad or in private university yet after graduation, expecting government to provide all the jobs might not work.
“Rather, let us work together to provide more companies, factories so that we would be able to tell government to provide us enabling environment, give us security, power supply etc,” Fayinka said.
On what the Club has done differently, the Mushin Lawmamer said, “We have been able to bring back past and harmonious glory of the club. The Club from time to time has helped communities with financial support, we have also embarked on public service where very close to us the club had fixed a road damaged by vehicular movement and many others”.
