According to her, the market is now in the hands of the Chinese.  She lamented that the Chinese performs the sole role of importer, exporter, distributor of both whole sales and retail of goods
in the market.

To arrest the situation, the Iyaloja urged the Lagos State Governor Akinwunmi Ambode to enable the Lagos State Trust Fund to give loans to traders.  Speaking in the same vein, the Babaloja of the market, Oshodi, Otunba Tajudeen Lateef expressed his grievances over denial of visa into China for goods importation while the Chinese offload containers of fibres every week, making the land owners observers.

The pathetic aspect of it , he said “our people aid the possibility of the foreigners having shops all over Oshodi market”. We implore the government to assist us in making the Trust Fund loan
visible to aid our importation of goods and also to use its good office to look into Oshodi market from being hijack by foreigners.
