Nigerian rapper Tochukwu Ojogwu, popularly known as Odumodublvck, has sparked reactions after declaring that men who are unwilling to make the ultimate sacrifice for their partners are “foolish.”

The rapper made the statement during a recent episode of the In Motion Podcast, where he spoke about love, marriage and his Christian beliefs.

Odumodublvck said his willingness to sacrifice for his partner was rooted in the biblical instruction for Christians to love their wives as Christ loved the Church.

According to him, Jesus Christ’s death for the Church represents the level of sacrifice he believes a man should be willing to make for his wife.

He said, “Any man who can’t die for his woman is foolish. I am a Christian, and Jesus Christ said we should love our wife like Christ loves the Church. And what did Christ do for the Church? He died for the Church.”

The rapper also said he expects to die before his wife, noting that she is younger than him and would be the person responsible for managing his wealth and preserving his legacy for their children.

“I am probably going to die before my wife, in Jesus’ name, because my wife is younger than me. Why should she die before me? It doesn’t make any sense.

“I should die before my wife. And when I die, it is my wife who will take and distribute my wealth to my children so that there will be no issue. It is my wife that will continue my legacy,” he added.

Odumodublvck also addressed the perception that he is a misogynist, describing the label as unfair.

He argued that his willingness to sacrifice himself for his partner contradicts the perception that he does not respect or support women.

“The biggest misconception about me is that I am a misogynist. It bothers me a lot because it is such an unfair thing to say. I am willing to die for my girlfriend; does that seem like what a misogynist would do?” he asked.
