Following the spate of crises that ensued from the purported Ward and Local Government Congresses in Isolo Local Council Development Area (LCDA) chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC), on May 5 and 12, 2018 respectively and as a result of lack of unity in the party, a group under the aegis of Igbo Stakeholders has appealed the National Leader of the APC Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu to intervene by prevailing on the leaders of Isolo APC to forget their differences in the interest of the party.

Worried by the development in the party at the local council, the group decried the crisis, stating that it may affect the party t the 2019 general elections if not tamed on time.

Addressing the journalists at a Central Working Committee (CWC) meeting of Igbo Stakeholders in APC Isolo LCDA, held at Bakis Continental Hotel, Ajao Estate, the Chairman of the group, Pastor Ndubuisi Ochiabutor, tinubu’s intervention was urgently needed for the success of the party.

Ochiabutor regretted that the same kind of crises that cropped up in the party in Isolo LCDA in 2014 which resulted in the dismal performance of the party during the 2015 general elections.

He noted that the same problem has been resurfacing in the party, adding that party leaders in Isolo had not deemed it fit to meet and proffer solutions to the contentious issues.

“The success of the APC at the forthcoming general elections may not be fully guaranteed if the issues are not addressed because when two elephants fight, the grass suffers,” he said.

The group ardently called on the leaders to wade into the political crisis in Isolo APC to avoid the ugly experience of 2015.

“We the Igbos, for over three years now after the last elections, have faithfully commenced intensive mobilisation of our people for APC, but we do not want our efforts to be in vain, hence this urgent appeal to our great National Leader who we know is a great fence-mender.

“We also demand that the party leaders should always look into the plight of Ndigbo by involving our people in appointive and elective positions.”

The Chairman, however, called on the Igbos in Lagos State and Isolo in particular to get their permanent voter‘s cards (PVCs) which is a prerequisite to vote for Governor Akinwunmi  Ambode in order to actualise his second term and all other APC candidates seeking elective positions in 2019.
