For David Olaoge, popularly known by his stage name, Visualizer, music is more than entertainment, it is a calling.
The gospel singer, who grew up as a church boy in the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), has chosen a path that combines his passion for music with his desire to spread the gospel.
His latest song, “Aye Jeje,” has begun attracting attention on YouTube, garnering hundreds of views within its first hour of release and generating steady traction among listeners.
An introvert compared with his twin brother, Peter, who is more extroverted, Visualizer’s decision to pursue music may not have been entirely surprising to those who know him closely.
What makes his journey interesting, however, is that he is a graduate of Biochemistry from Lagos State University (LASU), a discipline that could have taken him into the laboratory. Instead, he has chosen the microphone, believing that music and evangelism are part of his divine calling.
In “Aye Jeje,” Visualizer presents a different perspective on the pursuit of success and stardom. Rather than promoting shortcuts or questionable means of getting ahead, he preaches peace, righteousness and reliance on God.
The song, whose title suggests a gentle or peaceful life, carries a strong evangelistic message. Its mellow delivery and country-inspired sound, blended with gospel lyrics, give it a distinctive character.
For Visualizer, the song is not simply about melody or entertainment but about communicating a message of hope and reminding listeners that true peace comes through God.
Speaking to Echonews, Visualizer said his academic background in Biochemistry did not stop him from pursuing music because he considers singing and evangelism a calling he cannot ignore.
Although still at the early stage of his musical journey, the growing YouTube traction around “Aye Jeje” suggests that Visualizer may be gradually finding his audience.
With its calm sound, faith-driven message and growing digital reach, the gospel song could yet become a major entry point for the LASU-trained biochemist into the Nigerian music scene.
