Fire guts Chinese Facility in Surulere

A Chinese recycling facility identified as Jincheng Company in Lagos was engulfed with fire on Monday.

According to the Lagos State Fire Service, the outbreak which occurred at about 12:15pm at the 3-acre space firm on 11B, Eric Moore Road in Surulere, Lagos, had no casualty but led to significant loss of properties including cardboard materials used in recycling processes.

Director of the agency, Margaret Adeseye, mentioned that the state’s fire service alongside operatives at the Sari-Iganmu and Ajegunle outlet made a swift response at the scene and ensured tranquility in the area.

Adeseye stated that the incident which happened at the rear part of the firm premises was caused by negligence of the operatives at the firm.

The agency’s head urged the residents to always ensure adequate measures are taken to avert fire incidents to prevent loss of lives and properties.
