A female Muslim organisation, Al-Mu’minaat (The Believing Women), Isolo/Ejigbo chapter has embarked on a quarterly mosque sanitation within its branches.

The organisation, with thirteen branches in Isolo/Ejigbo, said it will be sanitising mosques of its choice within the council areas.

The head of the organisation (Amirah), Hajia Fatimah AbdulRahman, told ECHONEWS that the voluntary exercise is to encourage cleanliness in all Islamic establishments in Isolo and Ejigbo LCDAs.

Quoting from the holy book, she said the priority of Muslim faithful in worship is cleanliness before following other guidelines.

She noted that although Muslims are used to purifying their body before embarking on prayer, they sometimes tend to neglect the environment in which they pray which is why they decided to propagate cleanliness in their way.

AbdulRahman said that the organisation also engaged in other humanitarian services such as free healthcare and welfare packages for the needy in society.
