Court remands woman for seizing ex-lover’s documents

Harite Igwe has been arrested and remanded in prison following her alledged act of seizing the land documents of her erstwhile lover, Muoluchi Chikwado, valued at N20m after her attempt to force a marriage between them yielded no positive results.
Igwe was reported to have been in an affair with Chikwado after losing his wife some years back with the hope of being his wife, a plan thwarted by Chikwado, who was said to have made arrangements to marry another lady without notifying Igwe.
On getting to know his plan, Igwe made way into Chikwado’s residence at Jesus Avenue, Ijagemo, took away his documents and hid them.
When asked about the documents, Igwe disclosed that she had it but wouldn’t hand it over until Chikwado rescind his decision and marry her.
The matter was reported to have caused a squabble between the two as Chikwado, who reported the case at the Police Division at Isheri Osun, Ikotun didn’t oblige to her submission.
Igwe was thereafter charged before the Ejigbo Magistrates Court for stealing, the offence to which she pleaded not guilty.
The Prosecutor, Mr. G. Simon, did not oppose her being granted bail but asked the court for date for hearing of the matter.
Thus, the Magistrate, Kayode Layeni, granted her bail in the sum of N200,000 with two sureties in like sum.
She was remanded in prison custody pending when she would perfect her bail condition.
The matter was adjourned till 14th November, 2018.
