Grammy-winning Nigerian singer, Damini Ogulu, popularly known as Burna Boy, has become the African artist with the highest number of entries on the Billboard U.S. Hot 100 chart, surpassing fellow Nigerian star Tems.

Burna Boy and Tems were previously tied with eight entries each, but the singer secured a record ninth appearance on the chart this week through his collaboration with Colombian singer Shakira on the official World Cup song, Dai Dai.

The track debuted at No. 75 on the Billboard Hot 100, pushing Burna Boy ahead of Tems and establishing him as the African artist with the most appearances on the prestigious chart.

Dai Dai reportedly gained additional momentum after Burna Boy and Shakira performed the song during the opening ceremony of the World Cup.

The feat also makes Burna Boy the first African artist to record at least one Billboard Hot 100 entry in six consecutive years.

His Billboard Hot 100 appearances include Loved By You in 2021, Last Last in 2022, Sittin’ On Top Of The World and Talibans II in 2023, Just Like Me and We Pray in 2024, WGFT in 2025, and Only You alongside Dai Dai in 2026.
