Court Remands Man For Defiling Minor

The Magistrates’ Court in Ikeja is prosecuting a one Waheed Ibrahim over accusations of chiid defilement.

Ibrahim, a resident in Ibeju-Lekki, was remanded during a proceeding at the court where he was said to have defiled a four-year-old victim.

He is on trial on one count of defilement.

He pleaded guilty.

Court Magistrate, Ejiro Kubeinje, who did not take the defendant’s plea, ordered his remand in a correctional facility until November 5.

Kubeinje said that the court awaits legal advice from the Lagos State Director of Public Prosecutions, DPP.

Police prosecutor, Inspector John Iberedem, told the Magistrate that the Ibrahim committed the offence on September 3 by inserting his finger into the survivor’s private part.

According to Iberedem, the offence contravened Section 261 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.
