The Chairman of Lagos State Community Development Advisory Council (CDAC), Alhaji Amusat Azeez, has lauded the Community Development Committee (CDC), Isolo LCDA for appreciating the efforts of the political office holders urging other CDCs in Lagos State to follow its example.

Azeez gave the commendation when the CDC honoured the wife of the council chairman, Alhaja Sadist Ibironke Olaleye; wife of Member of the Federal House of Representatives representing Oshodi-Isolo Constituency II, Mrs. Olufunke Johnson as well as the wife of the Member of the Lagos State House of Assembly representing Oshodi-Isolo Constituency II, Mrs. Roseline Enitan Idimogu, with ‘Pillar of Support Awards’.

The CDC Chairman, Hon. Segun Olatunde said the awardees were conferred with the honour in appreciation of their supportive roles to their husbands which have transformed into various developmental activities in the council area and the constituency at large.

Azeez, who lauded the decision, called on other CDCs across the state to emulate the gesture by identifying and rewarding progressives political and community leaders in their various communities, advising them to create cordial relationship with the political office holders in their constituencies.

“I feel happy about the programme. It is a welcome development. If people are rewarded for being active and performing, I think it is a nice idea which will serve as encouragement for them to do more. The Isolo CDC is doing well because one of the things I noticed in them is their ability to identify good performance and reward such performances. That is what we should all know, it is very good to reward hard work. If a CDC can organise this kind of occasion for the political class, it means there are synergy and good working relationship between the community and the political class and that’s what we are clamouring for.”
