Another brand-new office block at Oliyide Street has been completed by the Mushin Local Government administration. As part of joint efforts to provide efficient services to the public, government security agencies and certain parastatals functioning in Mushin are accommodated in the recently completed office building.
During the foundation laying ceremony of the building in 2023, the Chairman – Mr. Emmanuel Bamigboye stated that the complex will accommodate agencies like; National Orientation Agency (NOA), National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), Directorate of State Security (DSS), Lagos State Residents Registration Agency (LASRRA), National Identity Management Commission (NIMC) and other agencies of both the Federal and state governments operating in Mushin, for the interest and effective service delivery to the people of Mushin Local Government.
The Chairman made a strong plea for the creation of a passport office in Mushin Local Government during his meeting with CIS B.A. Dangana, the Comptroller of Nigeria Immigration Service in Lagos State, early this year. This was done to spare his people the inconvenience of having to travel long distances to obtain or renew their passports.
Therefore, he gave the immigration boss his word that, should the establishment of the passport office be approved, they would be given the necessary and sufficient room to work. In a similar spirit, the Bamigboye administration has started work on a second, fully constructed primary healthcare centre in the Mushin neighbourhood of Idi Araba.
The 11 – 13 room bungalow building is expected to accommodate various departments for the delivery of effective health care services for the people of Idi – Araba community and its environs.
Apart from the above mentioned projects, the chairman has embarked on other numerous building projects include;
– Construction of blocks of shops at Mushin Main Market
– Construction of Six Classroom block at Nigeria Armed Forces Resettlement Centre (NAFRC) Primary School, Oshodi
– Construction of Blocks of flats at Igbo Owu Housing Estate
– Rehabilitation and Renovation of dilapidated Aiyetoro Primary School at Megbon.
The chairman has also embarked on rehabilitation of school fences across Mushin, to protect the schools from being exposed to hoodlums.
The Oliyide office complex which has reached its completion stage will soon be commissioned and allocated to the various offices of the government.
The office is located at the old premises of Mushin Local Government which is now adjacent to Mushin General Hospital in Oliyide street. The office complex will serve as a multi purpose complex and annexe to the secretariat of Mushin Local Government.
