The Chairman of Itire Ikate Local Council Development Area, Hon. Dr. Ahmed Olanrewaju Apatira in collaboration with Hope of Africa and Grace Polytechnic to organize an annual scholarship program for indigent students of the community.
In his keynote address, he stated that the initiative is part of the Administration’s Post Subsidy Removal support initiative to reduce the burden of academic cost on our parents and increase the level of tertiary literacy in the community.
The program aimed at aiding the academic development of our indigent students, building intellectual capacity and in turn boosting our local economy as beneficiaries will become Professional Employees and Employers of labour upon completion of their various courses at the Grace Polytechnic.
One Hundred Students were given admission into the tertiary institution above mentioned to study courses Business Administration to Accountancy, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Statistics and Mass Communication techniques amongst others.
He concluded by saying that “Education is the key to success and also a lifetime asset, once acquired, it can never be taken from you. It may be tough but with determination you all are destined for greatness.”
