In honour of World Sickle Cell Day 2024, Airtel Nigeria teamed up with CrimsonBow Sickle Cell Initiative to host a highly-attended sickle cell awareness and clinic at Dansol Primary School, Ikeja, Lagos, on Saturday, 22nd June.

 

The event was a demonstration of support for individuals living with sickle cell disease, providing free counseling, medical testing, drug dispensing, and educational sessions to raise awareness about the condition.

 

 

 

 

Reflecting on Airtel’s participation in the initiative, Chief Commercial Officer, Airtel Nigeria, Femi Oshinlaja, highlighted the company’s commitment to healthcare as part of its broader Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) objectives. According to him, Airtel’s involvement in the program epitomized its unwavering dedication to the well-being of the people it serves.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

“We are proud to partner with CrimsonBow Sickle Cell Initiative in this important endeavour, as it reflects our commitment to corporate social responsibility and improving community health outcomes. The goal of this partnership is to provide crucial support to individuals living with sickle cell disease and to help raise awareness about the condition. Speaking at the event, Founder and Chief Executive Officer, CrimsonBow Sickle Cell Initiative, Timi Edwin, expressed gratitude to Airtel.
