Cleaner Lagos sensitizes stakeholders on proper waste disposal, noise pollution

The Cleaner Lagos Initiative (CLI) has organized a campaign to sensitize stakeholders in Oshodi-Isolo against improper waste disposal, noise pollution and adherence to environmental law.

At the rally, the special guest of honour, SSA on Environmental and Cleaner Lagos Initiative, Engr. Adebola Shabi, distributed sanitation waste bags for proper refuse disposal to ease collection.

He also elaborated that mosque and churches are not allowed to generate noise during their worships, private homes, clubs and hotels are also guided with rules as regards to noise either through music or any other form.

Also, he mentioned that state government is determined to close any market lagging minimum environmental standard of the state and would also prosecute whoever is caught patronizing refuse cart pushers which has been forbidden by the state law.

He further implored lawmakers, environmental officers, council manager and other local government officials to intensify effort in sensitizing residents on health and environmental hazards of filthy surroundings as well as prosecuting any offender.

Earlier, the Oshodi-Isolo Vice Chairman, Hon. Daisi Oso, gave the welcome address which emphasised the need to always keep the environment clean and also urged the stakeholders to keep abreast of information that would guide the community.

The Executive Chairman of Oshodi-Isolo LGA, Hon. Bolaji Muse Ariyoh concluded the meeting by applauding Cleaner Lagos Initiative for the campaign, assured better and cleaner environment in Oshodi community.
