Call For Applications: EBID Young Professional Programme 2026
The ECOWAS Bank for Investment and Development (EBID) has opened applications for its 2026 Young Professionals Recruitment Programme.
This offers talented young graduates across West Africa an opportunity to begin a career with the regional development finance institution.
The programme is designed to attract high-calibre young professionals who can contribute to EBID’s work while gaining practical experience across different areas of the Bank’s operations. Selected candidates will join EBID as Young Trainee Professional Staff and receive professional development through departmental rotations and guidance from experienced staff.
Who Can Apply?
The opportunity is open to citizens of ECOWAS member states, including Nigeria, Ghana, Senegal, Côte d’Ivoire, Sierra Leone, Liberia, The Gambia, Guinea, Benin, Togo and other member countries.
Applicants must:
- Be under 30 years old at the time of recruitment.
- Hold a Master’s degree or equivalent qualification relevant to EBID’s activities.
- Demonstrate strong analytical, organisational and research skills.
- Be able to work effectively under pressure and in a multicultural environment.
- Have good knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
- Be fluent in English, French or Portuguese and have a working knowledge of at least one of the other two working languages.

What Selected Candidates Will Receive
The Young Professionals will be recruited as professional staff under Grade P1-1 of EBID’s staff classification and salary structure.
The package includes salary and applicable benefits such as:

The initial appointment is for two years, including a six-month probationary period. Candidates who perform satisfactorily during probation may have their appointments converted to open-ended contracts.

The programme is structured to expose participants to different departments within EBID. Young Professionals will work under the supervision of experienced staff, allowing them to develop practical knowledge of development finance, regional economic integration and the Bank’s operations.

Recruitment Process
Shortlisted candidates will be invited to EBID headquarters in Lomé, Togo, for written and oral assessments.
