FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup: Aduku Declares No Injury In Camp

Nigeria U20 women’s national team, Moses Aduku has notified that there are no injury concerns in camp as his side are ready for the firepower in their last group game against New Caledonia at the Stadion Miejski LKS Łódź on Sunday.

The Falconets have just one point from two matches after suffering a 2-0 loss to Spain and taking a point off China in the second game. The Nigerian teenagers will be targeting a huge number of goals against New Caledonia in their last group game.

Debutants, New Caledonia currently sit at the bottom of Group F after two heavy defeats in their opening matches, a 5-0 loss to China and a 11-0 cruel defeat to Spain. The side has yet to pick up a point and holds a goal difference of minus 16.

Despite New Caledonia results, Aduku insisted the Falconets won’t underrate their opponents. He’s elated that, there are no injuries in camp, which has further boosted the morale of the players.

“The results in their last two matches notwithstanding, we will not under-rate our opponents. I am happy because the girls are in good spirits and ready to go, and there are no injuries in our camp as I speak,” he said.

He understands the precarious situation the team is presently and how important for the Falconets to bombard New Caledonia with goals to have a chance of reaching the next round.

“We all know the implication of our not scoring goals on Sunday, so we will go in there and focus on scoring goals to stand a chance of reaching the next round. We cannot afford to go back home now.”

Nigeria must secure a convincing victory to improve their goal difference and keep alive any slim hopes of advancing to the Round of 16, regardless of the outcome of the other Group F fixture between Spain and China.
