Pastor Adeboye, Wife Celebrate 59th Wedding Anniversary

Pastor Enoch Adeboye, General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, and his wife, Pastor Folu Adeboye, are celebrating 59 years of marriage today, September 8, marking nearly six decades of a journey they have built together.
The couple marked the anniversary with a message of gratitude, reflecting on the years they have spent together and the experiences that have shaped their marriage.
In a message shared on social media, Pastor Adeboye thanked God for sustaining their union, describing their journey as one that has included seasons of joy, challenges, growth, answered prayers and countless reasons to remain grateful.
Looking back on almost six decades together, the revered cleric said marriage goes beyond the beautiful moments that couples often celebrate.
According to him, a lasting marriage requires partners to deliberately choose each other every day, give one another room to grow, show patience, forgive, pray together and trust God through the different seasons of life.
He also attributed the strength of their home to God’s presence, saying that God had remained faithful to them throughout their journey.
“Today, we look back with grateful hearts as we celebrate 59 years of marriage,” Adeboye wrote.
“It feels like yesterday that we began this journey together. Through the years, we have experienced seasons of joy, challenges, growth, answered prayers and countless reasons to give God thanks.”
He added that their experience had taught them that marriage was not simply about the good times, but also about the commitment to remain together through changing circumstances.
“We have learnt that marriage is not just about the beautiful moments. It is about choosing each other every day, giving room for growth, showing patience, forgiving, praying together and trusting God through every season,” he said.
The couple also expressed appreciation to family, friends and well-wishers who have supported and prayed for them and their family over the years.
“As we celebrate 59 years together, our hearts are filled with thanksgiving to God and appreciation for everyone who has loved, prayed for and supported us and our family over the years,” they said.
The couple said they remained grateful for the journey so far and looked forward to what the future holds.
“To God be all the glory,” they concluded.
After 59 years of marriage, Pastor Enoch and Pastor Folu Adeboye continue to mark their anniversary not only as a personal milestone, but as a reflection on companionship, commitment, faith, forgiveness and the years they have spent building a life together.
